American bunting inserted in the subfamily of the Cardinalidae. Rare erratic species in Europe. Found in all seasons, mainly in summer. Species often kept in captivity. It lives in the eastern regions of the United States, in Mexico and in all Central America. The sexual dimorphism is marked: the female is brown, the male is blue-turquoise with brown wings and tail.
